A Shaded View of Fashion Film Festival, Paris, September 24-26 expands on the idea of fashion as seen through the lens of the moving image.
Curated by Diane Pernet, revered cult blogger and co-editor in chief of Zoo magazine, the three day festival features an impressive and diverse roster of films submitted by the likes of Steven Klein, Nick Knight and Ryan McGinley. Moreover, many of the short films feature actresses with respected fashion credibility like Chloe Sevigny, Dita Von Teese and Roisin Murphy.
The festival will take place at the Palais de Tokyo, with a final awards ceremony at the Centre Pompidou. All of the events will directly precede Paris fashion week. The awards include a Prix de Jury in the Reflection, Communication and Music Video categories, and the festival’s sponsor, Samsung, will award a 3,000-euro Grand Prize to the best new talent.
A Shaded View of Fashion Film Festival reinforces that the moving image is becoming more important in the fashion imagery tableau.
