GOING GRUNGE
Milan: Max Mara creative director Ian Griffiths was having a ’90s moment for fall. Long layered silhouettes, fuzzy Kurt Cobain sweaters and plenty of plaid gave the collection its flavor. The Anglo-Scottish theme made perfect references for the conservative label, in sophisticated tailoring and show-stopping coats – all safe bets to please his clientele. – Joanna Manganaro
