NEW YORK…Despite professing a love of the currently explosive British fashion scene, London based designer Matthew Williamson has continued to show his collection in New York, including the current F/W 08 season. One of the brightest, most exuberant shows of the week, the looks were based around the designer’s signature use of pattern, from digitized floral needlepoint to more futuristic, sweeping linear prints. All of these graphics were expertly grounded on a deep gray background, and finished off with a madcap flurry of embellishment, like fur collars, cropped jackets and metallic, pocketed minis. Look to Williamson for a unfailingly on-point direction for feminine, yet edgy Juniors.
