Matthew Williamson’s much-anticipated line for H&M hit select stores all over the world yesterday. The British designer, who counts such stars as Eva Longoria Parker, Lindsay Lohan, Mischa Barton, and Sienna Miller as fans, has designed a more affordable line with bold patterns and bright prints in everything from swimwear to evening gowns. Williamson’s fans waited in long lines to get a peek of the collection that offers an intriguing glimpse into high priced fashion world. When the doors opened at 10am, the masses burst through and the chaos began. Within minutes the racks were picked clean, the tables were bare, and the mannequins were left naked and alone.
Prices range from $25 for a pendant necklace to $249 for the leather jacket and sequin minidress, and top out at $349 for the beaded maxi dress. For those who missed the first shipment, the second part of the collection will hit stores May 14th and will also include a line of menswear (a first for the designer).
