Emerging London designers Marta Marques and Paulo Almeida have been putting out womenswear collections for over two years now, but S/S 13 marks the design duo’s debut menswear outing.

Portuguese designers Marta Marques and Paulo Almeida, have only a few collections under their belt, but they have already earned themselves a huge fan base with street style stars like Elena Perminova as well as rail space in high-end boutiques like Opening Ceremony  — both in just a matter of years when they launched in Fall 2011.

While the designers’ rough-luxe aesthetic of baggy 90s skater silhouettes has always maintained a unisex appeal, S/S 13 will see the pair’s shredded and slashed denims offered in a men’s counterpart. This season, Marques Almeida debuts their first ever menswear collection, exclusively at Opening Ceremony. Here’s what they said:

“In keeping with the grit ‘n’ grunge feel of their womenswear, the designers have created a capsule of frayed denim pieces in classic shapes—baggy tees, jackets, and track shorts. To launch the collection, Marta and Paulo sent off the pieces and a camera to Pedro, Marta’s sister’s boyfriend. He wore the clothes on a day out around Paris; check out his snaps above.”

Shop the collection exclusively at Opening Ceremony, and take a look at Marques Almeida’s previous womenswear collections here.
