New York: Marissa Webb presented a collection that was a compliment to her savvy eye for commercial items. With pieces borrowed from the boys, easy trenches and jackets were blended and worn in innovative ways – juxtaposed over crisp white shirts and tied at the waist or played back against flirty and feminine dresses in smart layers. Webb played with these classics – trench coats were turned into clever dresses and long, unbuttoned masculine tunics were left loose or belted over long skirts and skinny pants. Midi-length shirtdresses were constructed in crisp cotton eyelet while graphic prints played out on soft silks. It was the attention to detail from the origami folds to the cinched and belted waists that made this a stand out collection. – Lizzy Bowring
