Marco De Vincenzo

Milan: For his sophomore collection Marco De Vincenzo showed a moody collection that managed to look both edgy and cozy. Fleecy pieces covered in dark landscapes, as well as several with embroidered star motifs, complemented a twilight-esque palette of dark grays, mauves, and purples, resulting in a spooky-romantic feel. Whimsy and practicality coexisted, as comfortable, pretty separates and wrap dresses walked down the same runway as a draped lamé dress with fluid velvet accents. The models wore dark dramatic lips and center parts that added to the show’s soft-goth feel, but each look was worn with a pair of simple heeled clogs that grounded all the fantasy. While the collection’s overall aesthetic was fairly particular, those who respond to the designer’s vision will wear it with ease.
