New York: Marc Jacobs closed fashion week with a refreshing line-up of looks with a strong military influence. Belted waists and voluminous constructions resulted in extreme hourglass shapes. Cargo pants featuring oversized patch pockets were the core of the collection, and complemented by relaxed variations on schoolgirl dresses. In place of Girl Scout-inspired patches were large resin and button appliqués, creating tactile surface interest. –Deirdre Pérez
