PRINTS ON PARADE
Always playful and perfectly on trend, Marc Jacobs played directly to his younger audience in his little sister line. This Spring’s girl was a mix between global roamer and vintage sweetheart, with a little bit of 80s flair thrown in. Graphic appeal was high, with this season’s important African-inspired prints mixing — somehow effortlessly — with 1940s polka dots and graduated stripes. Carrying over from recent seasons, Jacobs kept shoulders strong and waists nipped with elastic webbing or wrapped fabric belts, topping off every look with bright, oversized hair bows. Even with all the hype, the famed New York designer has once again displayed his understanding of the Junior market with this jubilant and appealing Spring offering.
