Marc by Marc Jacobs

New York: More sophisticated than the sporty-retro looks of last season, the Marc by Marc Jacobs F/W 11 collection was full of rich color and dressy textiles. Silk satin sheath dresses, ladylike blouses, and knee-length skirts came in jewel tones, while woolen tailored items were shown in rustic autumnals. Though sailor items, ascot collars, and bias cuts conjured the 30s and 40s, styles felt current on the show’s youthfully fresh-faced models.
