Paris: Maison Martin Margiela’s spring presentation used feminine elements to punctuate straightforward suiting and casual separates, adding cut-off blazer bottoms as aprons to slim trousers or revealing glimpses of paisley embroidery and burnout velvet tails beneath mannish vests and overcoats. Rendered in sturdy leather, the aprons began to look like a welding uniform, but paired with fine gauge jersey t-shirts or satin-y waistcoats, the effect was pleasingly dapper and bohemian.— Nina Stotler
