Design hostels are sprouting up in major cities as of late, and luckily for frequent travelers, this new trend allows for hotel accommodations at hostel prices. So if you’re looking to travel to Madrid on a budget, U Hostels is the way to go. Alonso Martinez Square is home to a 19th century palace, which now sports the chic, ultra modern hostel. U Hostels is the first of its kind in Madrid, catering to the youth culture in the most luxurious of manner. The minimalist décor is complete with a white backdrop, custom-made bunks and distressed leather armchairs. There’s even a rooftop terrace, a restaurant, a bar, a library and a cinema room to encourage socializing.  And speaking of social, U Hostels has put forth quite the social effort, working with various charities throughout Africa and India. What more could you ask for during your stay at the Spanish capital? – Sarah Ryan Hecht
