This week saw the launch of the long awaited MAC colour collection designed in collaboration with American fashion designer Prabal Gurung.
Housed in custom-designed, square, golden packaging with a mesh-like pattern overlay, the collection is striking and glamorous, in-keeping with the designer’s trademark look.
Said to have taken two years to create, the 14 piece make-up collection was inspired by the designer’s mother’s beauty compacts, as well as taking style tips from Sylvie Fleury, Damien Hirst and Nick Knight.
Warm, autumnal colours come in the form of three eyeshadow duos in Satin Ochre (white gold and coral), Terre (beige and brown) and Cinder (cool grey and charcoal,) as well as three lipglosses and three lipsticks in varying berry tones ranging from Light English Red to Ultramarine Pink.
Staples include a bronzing powder, a cream colour base, a buffing brush, a kohl power eye pencil in rich black and a chromagraphic pencil.
Model Julia Schuring fronts the campaign, photographed by Daniel Jackson, in a glittery, golden dress and impact red lips.
Gurung joins the likes of Proenza Schouler and Gareth Pugh who have both created make-up collections with the cosmetic giant.
The MAC Prabal Gurung collection is available now exclusively at Harrods, Harvey Nichols London and on www.maccosmetics.co.uk.
