New York: After closing the successful sweater label Lutz & Patmos last year, Marcia Patmos began her own line dubbed M. Patmos. Having presented just four collections, the label has already won the Ecco Domani Fashion Fund award and was picked up by Barneys New York and Browns of London, among other retailers. The designer was inspired by the idea of a multi-cultural, multi-climate vacation, and the versatile looks conveyed this vision. South America seemed to have been one of the destinations on the M. Patmos woman’s itinerary, with hand-woven striped serape vests and fringed sweaters made by a group of Bolivian female artisans. A light greenish blue tone evoked the color of the sea viewed from the deck of a sailboat, while all-black looks – some decorated with hand-sewn leather sequins – would be perfect for a stopover in the city. Wherever Marcia Patmos’ customer chooses to go, she will have a range of chic, thoughtful and versatile pieces to take with her. –Joanna Manganaro
