The Active Team has been following the exponential growth of urban bike commuters around the world for quite some time. From Amsterdam and London to Portland, New York City and, even Los Angeles, men and women have embraced bike culture in a major way – shifting the paradigm and breaking the mold of how people should get around. That being said, it seems only natural that non-endemic brands like Lululemon, are joining this movement with a new collection of apparel and accessories geared specifically to urban riding.
The Ride On collection is ideal for city dwellers who need a bit of fashion and function, allowing ladies to look good, while not giving up the technical performance that’s needed for cycling (a trend that we’ve been following in a range of active markets).
The line includes an array of pieces including a vest, handwarmers, a few jackets, shorts, pants and a yoga bag that you can carry while, of course, riding a bicycle.
Lululemon even created a short film with ambassadors, Mary Beth and Jacki wearing the collection while commuting to each of their jobs. The ladies added the fact that riding to work, “gives me the ability to be unplugged and to be present to the ocean and sunshine.” Brilliant!
