London: Against a stark and clear canvas, Lucas Nascimento presented a vivid and colourful collection of slim, effortless silhouettes. The designer appeared to have drawn on his native Brazil for inspiration – tropical florals and a minimal but rich colour palette of purple, russet red , olive and brown.  His show stopping spaghetti-strapped knit jumpsuits, whether floral jacquard or tinsel-flecked were craveworthy – tinsel finishes prevailed throughout. Elsewhere in the collection, Nascimento draped his models with oversized leather and wool bonded coats that were an interesting contrast to the otherwise linear shapes – here, bold contrasts of colour made for a striking impact. Nascimento’s strength lies in in his approach to his knitwear, a master of subtle propositions, whether in the floor sweeping trousers, the cleverly layered knit pieces, all without exception. The use of the hothouse florals in contrasting pieces and the attention to perfect styling, made this another memorable show from a promising star. – Lizzy Bowring
