FUTURISTIC FEMME BOTS

The knitwear guru Louise Goldin was able to design a collection of sexy space uniforms through a precise computer program that she created and wrote. The new technology allowed her to sculpt structured pieces from lurex-infused yarns, worked with pastels like blush pink and powder blue. Pieced tops, made from folded satin, quilted cotton, glitter-encrusted panels, grommets and leather, were segmented into lingerie and corsetry elements that became modern breastplates, to be layered over tulle tees. Perfect cone-shaped bras, inspired by Jean Paul Gaultier’s version for Madonna in the early 90s, looked like futuristic armor. A golden knit bodysuit was the standout piece, complete with spike-covered stilettos.
