TIMELESS IS NOW!
Paris: Nicolas Ghesquiere’s first collection for Louis Vuitton was full of “perennial” pieces. The show notes read, “This familiar wardrobe appeals to the collection unconscious, stirring our affective memory.” The silhouette was a slight A-line, a little girly, with a sportswear appeal. Ghesquiere used the house’s heritage of leather goods to inspire his work, from the masterful color and fabric combinations, reminiscent of the late ’70s and early ’80s, to the covetable boots and handbags. – Lizzy Bowring
