LOS ANGELES: Trois Mec Opens

The hottest new restaurant in town opens this week, but don’t bother looking for a sign. Trois Mec (“Three Guys” in French) is a collaboration between acclaimed chefs Vinny Dotolo and Jon Shook (Animal, Son of a Gun) and Ludo Lefebvre (LudoBites, LudoTruck), housed inside of a former pizza place located in a strip mall. The exterior remains unchanged, but once inside you’ll find the tiny space transformed, with only four tables and eight seats at the bar overlooking the bustling open kitchen. There’s no sign, and also no walk-ins: all seats at Trois Mec must be secured by registering on their website and then pre-ordering tickets to gain entry. There will be two seatings nightly, and no-shows will have the option of transferring their tickets to another party or simply being billed the full price of this inventive 5-course meal ($100, $75 plus an 18% gratuity). If you’re lucky enough to snag a seat, get ready for one of the most delicious experiences of your culinary life, as these three guys certainly know their way around a kitchen. — Ashley Churchill
