Looking to shop for premium fashion, one-of-a-kind vintage or men’s workwear denim?

No problem, Los Angeles has you covered.

Need to find some shops that specialise in denim alterations too? Well, that’s just the icing on the cake, and yet another reason why this place is dubbed the denim capital of the world.

The variety of denim shops/boutiques that Los Angeles has to offer convinces us we are getting closer to finding the ‘perfect pair of jeans’ no matter what style, indigo colour or fabric, not to mention some of these specialty stores also offer ‘in-store’ alterations.

From boutiques offering the latest top fashions at women’s premium denim to one-of-a-kind vintage denim shops, to shops that carry men’s premium denim workwear in raw and selvedge fabrics, here we highlight our favourite shops where you can find one of each:

1. On the look out for: women’s premium denim fashions?

About:  Since the brand’s launch in 2008, LA-based Current Elliott has quickly evolved in the denim world and creates some of the most fashionable premium denim on the market today. The brand oozes love for vintage denim and Americana, while paying tribute to denim’s history with a modern, elegant, fashionable twist. Current Elliott’s first-ever boutique opened in Abbot Kinney in October 2015, offering its mostly made-in-America jeanswear and apparel.

 

2. On the look out for: women’s and men’s one-of-a-kind vintage denim?

Shop at: Foxhole    

Location: 3318 W Sunset Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90026

About: Foxhole’s DIY aesthetics, groovy interior and stacks of vintage denim fit right in on the eclectic strip on Sunset Boulevard. Established in 2013, the homely spot known as Foxhole has gathered a loyal following including supermodels and music stars such as Adam Levine of Maroon 5. Foxhole is known for reworking vintage denim, tailoring, and producing one-of-a-kind interior goods such as blankets, pillows and accessories, all in recycled denim.

3. On the look out for: men’s premium workwear and selvedge denim?

Shop at: Stronghold

Location: 1625 Abbot Kinney Blvd, Venice, CA 90291.

About: Established in 1895, the Stronghold was the very first denim brand manufactured in Los Angeles, the reproduction of this classic brand celebrates the old world worksmanship, selvedge fabric, and details of the original.
