Hey – looks spotted on the street in New York. I love her shaggy chic jacket above and the Balenciaga ‘City’ bag is totally cute. The oversized hardware on the bag gives it a bit of punk/industrial edge and lifts it well out of standard “designer bag” yawn-inducement. My look of the day designation is however based mostly on her taste in jeans and shoes. With so many cool New Yorkers opting for black or grey denim, her super skinny, super faded Ksubi blue jeans paired with chunky-meets-spiky ankle boots were the real show stoppers. I spotted another lovely (below) wearing a similar skinny/faded + chunky/spiky combo not 5 mins. later – and then saw nothing similar the rest of the day.
Hey – he ain’t no tool bag! He’s my male look of the day! Seriously though…his mod engineer’s cap and shaggy hair had me thinking of John Lennon in A Hard Day’s Night…while much of the rest of his bohemian/utilitarian look suggested more of a classic 60’s American influence similar to the album cover for The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan. Pretty appropriate since I spotted him on Bleecker Street – Dylan’s old haunt.
