Victoria Beckham has opened her debut store on Dover Street in Mayfair, London. Based in a Georgian building, the three-storey space houses the designer’s ready-to-wear collection and the diffusion line Victoria, Victoria Beckham, as well as denim, accessories, eyewear, and a new range of leather goods including small and large pocket pouches, wallets, and journals. Designed by multi-award winning London-based architect Farshid Moussavi, the space has been created to look more like a gallery, with an impressive flight of 4-meter-wide polished concrete stairs leading to a giant projection on the first floor’s end wall, and a cast-concrete latticed ceiling above. American walnut and bottle green glass surfaces show off large changing rooms and cash-wrap areas, while freestanding furniture is bespoke, modular and hewn from a single piece of walnut. The shopping experience is made more personal as traditional till points are replaced with iPad payment. –Emily Cater
