London’s 2013 Tweed Run took place last weekend, and the author/editor of this blog was on hand to participate both as a race marshal and a photographer- from the back of a tandem [ed. note: a great vantage point for capturing action shots!]. Described as “a metropolitan ride with a bit of style,” the Tweed Run began in London in 2009 as a charitable event uniting cycling- and tweed- enthusiasts, channeling that uniquely British ability to be both delightfully eccentric and incredibly dignified at once. Though 2012’s “Tweed Police” squad stayed home this year, most attendees dutifully donned their best tweed-y looks and morale was high at this annual event, despite a spot or two of rain towards the end. We’re already looking forward to next year…until then, enjoy this round-up of photos from 2013.
