The Glamour of Italian Fashion 1945-2014, is currently on show at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, and the exhibition is a landmark exploration of luxury Italian fashion dating from the end of the Second World War to today.

The exhibition showcases menswear and womenswear spanning couture, tailoring, accessories, gowns and ready-to-wear from leading houses such as Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, Giorgio Armani, Missoni, Prada, Valentino and Versace.

Additionally, post-war designers such as Simonetta and the Fontana Sisters sit alongside emerging design talent displayed though film, photography and apparel.

The focus of the exhibition lies in the quality of luxury materials used by Italian designers, expert textile production and regional manufacturing.  –Emily Cater
