A seriously chic addition to London’s hotel scene, yesterday saw the much-anticipated opening of The London Edition, a new hotel by Ian Schrager and the Marriott hotel group. Schrager, the man behind Studio 54 and iconic London hotels Sanderson and St. Martins Hotel is known for his collaborative work with the creative community, and has previously teamed up with super talents including Basquait and Philippe Starck. The London Edition is an exhilarating example of fine yet quirky design. Housed in a row of Grade II listed Georgian townhouses, the interiors are as impressive as they are stylish with a selection of contemporary design features including pale wood and a neutral color palette mixed with opulent artwork and splashes of bold hues and unexpected textures. Housing 173 rooms, two bars and the upscale Berner’s Tavern restaurant, this new hotel opens in perfect time for London Fashion Week and we anticipate this to be one of the hottest new hangout spots for the week (and months) ahead. -Anna Jacobsen
