The WGSN beauty team went behind the scenes at the LCM shows to get the lowdown from the lead hairstylists on the big hair trends for next season. Here Beauty Editor Theresa Yee and Beauty Assitant Emma Grace Bailey reveal their top five:

Belstaff

Belstaff 1

The Inspiration: A traveller on an adventure who is riding through the snowy mountains passing over tough terrains and icy glaciers.

The Look: A highly textured hairstyle featuring a combo of wet, matte and dry finishes to reflect the traveller’s odyssey through the cold, wintry weather conditions.

Lead Stylist: Teiji Utsumi using Fudge Professional.

Key Products: Tri Blo, Salt Spray, Dry Shampoo and Elevate Styling Powder.

Sibling

Sibling

The Inspiration: Sibling’s fascination with 70s and 80s pop culture inspires this collection, in particular two icons from the music and art world: Grace Jones and Jean Michel Basquiat.

The Look: Hair is styled into square 80s buffalo shape and primary coloured wefts in acid yellow, blood red and deep blue, inspired by Grace Jones’ album covers, encircle the front of the head.

Lead Stylist: Teiji Utsumi using Fudge Professional.

Key Products: Tri Blo, Hot Head and Head Shine.

Pieter

 Pieter

The Inspiration: Taking its cue from the works of photographer Robert Mapplethorpe for the ultimate gentleman’s quiff.

The Look: A structured and sophisticated hairstyle featuring a soft and relaxed curl through the front. Prep with water and mousse and blast dry, working product through each section to add texture with a wide toothed comb.

Lead Stylist: Mari Ohashi using Bumble and bumble.

Key Products: Thickening Full Form Mousse, Crème Contour, Sumotech and Brilliantine.

Katie Eary

 Katie Eary

The Inspiration: A teen wolf look inspired by the 60s and 70s.

The Look: Two looks feature, the wild bed-head featuring excess volume and texture, and the sleek, rounded bowl cut with attached side burns.

Lead Stylist: Teiji Utsumi using Fudge Professional.

Key Products: Tri – Blo Prime, Hair Shaper, Structure Wax and Unleaded Skyscraper.

KTZ

 KTZ

The Inspiration: Baseball and American football inspire this collection, resulting in a sporty, sweaty hair look as though a helmet has just been removed post-race.

The Look: Hair is doused in hairspray and cream then loosely finger dried for natural movement. Hair at the nape of the next and around the ears is made to look sweatier with hairspray and oil.

Lead Stylist: Ben Jones using Bumble and bumble.

Key Products: Prep, Thickening Hairspray, Grooming Crème, Brilliantine, Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil.
