One of our favorite festive traditions is visiting the Christmas tree at ultra-luxe hotel Claridge’s in London’s Mayfair. This year’s collaboration with fashion super stars Dolce & Gabbana has resulted in a stunning tree covered in over 450 hand-blown colorful Italian glass baubles. Incorporating Sicilian Christmas traditions it also sees a base of 30 traditional wooden marionettes dressed in velvet robes, a typical festive decoration from the South Italian region.  Commenting on their creation, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana say “When we think of London, we always think of Claridge’s and of its typically English atmosphere that fascinates us and makes us fall in love with the city every time as if it were the first. Our Christmas tree isn’t only a celebration of Christmas as we celebrate it in Italy, but it is at the same time a tribute to the artisanal Italian tradition, the same that we love to export worldwide with everything we do.” A true celebration of the holiday season, if you are in London- don’t miss this beautiful festive gem. –Anna Jacobsen
