New York: Inspired by the many facets of twentieth-century gay literary figure Samuel Steward (the subject of Justin Springs’ recent biography, entitled “Secret Historian: The Life and Times of Samuel Steward, Professor, Tattoo Artist, and Sexual Renegade”) the F/W 11 Loden Dager collection incorporated looks that represented each of Steward’s five lives: from bookish preppy to biker to man-about-town. The offerings covered all of the masculine basics, including pea coats and anoraks, edgy motorcycle jackets, trim suits, and boyishly snug knits. Neutral separates rounded out the mix and sporty accessories complemented each aesthetic.
