BAND OF BIKERS
New York: The designer collective behind Loden Dager is one of New York’s best kept secrets. With a nomination for a CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund award and the attention of some of the choosiest retailers and editors, the line moves forward, offering subtle edge for the downtown set. Band of Bikers, a book of 1960s photographs glorifying motorcycling’s “wild side”, inspired the S/S 11 collection. Modified moto jacket elements appeared throughout, on sleeveless cotton blazers, layered knits and even a chambray tank top. Occasional bursts of grass green and berry pinks and purples offset classic black leather and indigo. A synthesis of hard and soft resulted in one of the designers’ strongest collections.
