Fashion Week need-to-knows: Milan retail
Feb 19, 2019 | By Alice Gividen
To celebrate Tokyo’s Designtide 2010, Amsterdam’s Lloyd Hotel has set up shop in Daikanyama with LLOVE.
Over 50 Japanese and Dutch interior designers and artists have contributed to the design of LLOVE, which consists of 14 guest rooms, a bathroom gallery, a cafe focusing on the cuisine of the Nara region, a gift store stocked with goods from the Netherlands and a book kiosk.
From rock gardens and fertility themes to emulating a real Japanese love hotel, the theme of “Still in Llove” abounds through distinct cultural traditions and design aesthetics.
LLOVE is accepting reservations until November 23, and will only be available for one-night stays during Designtide (October 29 – November 3) when the rooms are open to the public for viewing.
