Live From Vegas: Women’s Trade Show Trends

Its been an eventful week in Vegas with so much denim inspiration at the city’s many trade shows: Project, Magic, Capsule and ENK.

There are plenty of great menswear trends such as the chambray jean, the summer blanket stripe and the lightweight trucker, but the most visual trends this season were for the ladies. We’ve picked three of our fave looks to wet your appetite before our trade show denim wrap goes live next week:


Digital printed surfaces reined supreme for the S/S 13 season. Skylines, florals and nature were all celebrated in their full-color glory. The most prominent trend was for vacation-ready Hawaiian scenes such as sunsets and palms. This digital surface trend moves on the allover print for the new season and cements the statement looks taking over women’s denim perfectly. High color is key and skinny silhouettes and shorts offer a core base for these theatrical surfaces.

Iridescent Surface

The Holographic trend that we called out last season takes hold for S/S 13. Multi-hued foils and metallics were prominent at many stands and we particularly loved the new Notify x Manish Arora collaboration jeans made with washable iridescent leather, look out for these awesome jeans on the S/S 13 Paris runways next month!

Outre surface

A trend set to build into F/W 13, this over-the top surface trend uses foil prints, high-density embroideries and embellishment to transform classic denim silhouettes. Metallic and lurex embroidery threads are used as a localized highlight or an allover coverage, creating an opulent and rich attitude. Ksubi mixed the look with heavily washed-down cut-offs to create a more casual feel.
