The Stylesight materials and footwear teams just finished up an intense three days at the 25th edition of Linea Pelle S/S 12 tradeshow (Bologna, Italy) — analyzing and confirming leather and textile trends from our S/S 12 Materials Forecast as it relates to footwear, bags, accessories and garments. We were excited by pale and abstract palettes presented at the trend forum in addition to the many variations of soft, textural and cut-out leathers. Printed materials of tropical florals and tribal-ethnic motifs from our Soul trend prove to be spot-on as did the many displays of woven leathers, straw and cork applications.
Suppliers Valdarno and Marmara truly impressed with their quirky booths made to look like old country Italian gardens and neighborhood grocers (respectively). We loved the guy slicing prosciutto, cheese and serving wine to attendees as they passed by. Be sure to check our full report on Linea Pelle S/S 12 in the coming days for an in-depth recap of all the juicy finds that will sure to inspire your S/S 12 footwear designs.
P.S. – We ran into Kanye West looking at leathers and eating ice cream during an unseasonably warm day at Linea Pelle…yes, eighty-four degrees and stunningly beautiful.
