Tao Kurihara, of the label Comme des Garcons, revealed her cotton-candy colored eponymous label yesterday in Paris, to much acclaim. The light and fluffy yet complex knitwear was expertly balanced against the otherwise ominous look of the show. Silver-foil dresses were the openers, after which followed several waves of candy colors, then black, then cream (and back for some more candy). The voluminous silhouettes were on par with some of the other Parisian collections, only instead of sharp angles, Kurihara achieves the look using soft piles of spiraling fabric.
