If you’re a regular DDD reader, then you’ll know we are big fans of Lightning magazine. So much so, that we’ve been to their offices in Tokyo to chat with their editorial team. Their Denim Bible issue just hit stores and we’re certain it will be a must-buy for any denim head.

Similar to their much revered Denim Byers Guide, that has helped so many denim enthusiasts to learn about rare and niche Japanese denim, The Denim Bible contains fact sheets and diagrams, fit guides, indigo information, and dissects a variety of brands from the most well know in the world to the smallest and rarest in Japan.

The thick tome explores even limited edition collaborative jeans such as below’s Engineered Garments x Beams Plus jean and each pair of denim is specially photographed and distilled into its key attributes. Obviously the only down side of the book is that it’s in Japanese, but we still rate it as a great magazine to keep hold of and pour over on a rainy Sunday. Keep an eye on your local purist denim store for stock, and when their site is up and running, we’ve heard that Japan Holic is stocking.
