Throughout LFW our beauty team will be on the ground covering the latest hair, make-up and nail trends as they happen.

Here Senior Beauty Editor Theresa Yee and Beauty Assistant Emma Grace Bailey reveal their top five from Day 1:

J. JS Lee

The Inspiration: Girl on the go

The Look: Bruised, tired eyes are created using MAC’s Studio Quick Fix double ended contour stick, applied over flawless, healthy skin. Lips are bitten and stained in crimson and wine hues, buffed on from the centre outwards as though they’ve been kissed all night long. For the hair, a sleek yet natural pony is created accessorized with a black tassel pinned to the right hand side. Nails are natural, aside from a small square of black or red at the cuticle.

Lead Stylists: Lucy Burt for MAC Cosmetics/ Adam Reed for L’Oreal Professionnel

Key Products: MAC Studio Quick Fix, L’Oreal Professionnel Infinium, Deviation Paste and Tecni.ART Fix Design

The Inspiration: The morning after the night before – but polished

The Look: Skincare comes into its own, with foundation ruled out in favour of MAC Beauty Balm for a natural glow. Lashes are the focus, primed with a stroke of In Extreme Dimension Lash mascara and then pinched together in a random and irregular fashion. Hair takes inspiration from the collection, which looks to abstract art and the interplay between graphic and fluid movement. Roots are coated in L’Oreal Shower Shine spray for a hard and greasy outcome, whilst the length is loosely tonged with a satin finish.

Lead Stylists: Adam de Cruz for MAC Cosmetics / Stephen Lowe for L’Oreal Professionnel

Key Products: L’Oreal Professionnel Shower Shine Spray, Pli, Liss Control+, MAC Prep + Prime BB Beauty Balm and In Extreme Dimension Lash

Ryan Lo:

The Inspiration: Princess of Chinatown

The Look: Eyes are the focus, with MAC’s Black Chromaline used to create a modern flick accompanied by drawn on lower lashes. Brows are bushy so the look isn’t too perfect, and lips are tinted in an earthy red stain. For the hair, it’s all about a simple, clean texture tied loosely into a low pony and held with bright ribbons in red and pink. Playful and vibrant clips frame the face. Nails are long and feminine, coated in a thick dosage of MAC’s Shirelle lacquer – a hot orangey red.

Lead Stylists: Isamaya Ffrench for MAC Cosmetics / Holli Smith for Bumble and bumble / Sophy Robson for MAC Cosmetics

Key Products: Bumble and bumble Thickening Spray, Surf Spray, MAC Chromaline in Black Black, Fleur Powder Blush, Studio Nails Lacquer in Shirelle

DAKS:

The Inspiration: Deep, dark, stormy and seductive. Modern Victoriana. A girl out on the town.

The Look: A piercing and sultry smoky eye in a matte black tone is key. Almond shaped, the edges are buffed to soften, with pigment taken right up to and into the brow. Lashings of mascara add an extra dimension, while lips are stained with MAC’s eye kohl in Costa Riche. Hair is intricate, beautiful and sleek. Split into three sections and parted on the side, swept around the head and pinned into a tight, pristine bun. Nails add more drama, with an ultra glossy black lacquer for an elegant finish.

Lead Stylists: Adam Reed for L’Oreal Professionnel / Maria Comparetto for MAC Cosmetics / Anatole Rainey for MAC Cosmetics

Key Products: L’Oreal Professionnel Infinium Extra Strong, Tecni.ART Air Fix, Crystal Gloss, Tecni.ART Metallic Gloss, MAC Studio Nail Lacquer in Nocturnelle, Studio Waterweight Foundation, Eye Kohl in Costa Riche, Fluidline in BlackTrack, Eye Kohl in Smoulder, Eye Shadow in Carbon, In Extreme Dimension Lash

The Inspiration: Soft punk. A mish mash of punk and 60s influences

The Look: A classic cat liner done with a modern twist using custom-made Face Lace designs. Leopard print spots cover the hands to mimic gloves. Skin is dewy with a moonlit glow. The rest of the face is kept natural with filled in brows and colour patted onto the mouth for a soft stained lip. Over on the nails, Staunton created a three tier, floating abstract manicure with lava lamp bubble effects.

Lead Stylists: Phyllis Cohen at Face Lace / Liz Martin for Models Own / Stephanie Staunton for Models Own

Key Products: Custom made Face Lace and Models Own i-Definer Gel Eyeliner in Black, Sculpt & Glow Highlighter Stick, Runway Foundation, Sculpt & Glow Highlighter Powder, Sculpt & Glow Liquid Highlighter, Extreme Volumising Mascara, Nail Polishes in Peach Icing, Pink Veneer, Paradise Pink and Long Beach Peach
