Being at the very beginning of the denim history books, we’re big fans of Levi’s and its LVC (Levi’s Vintage Clothing) range. The meticulous research, dedication and craftsmanship involved in every replica Levi’s piece and the story behind every item means you get so much history in each garment you buy.
Yesterday two exciting things happened in the world of Levi’s history: the LVC website launched last night and leading denim blog BLKW wrote about this amazing collection of Levi’s historical videos. The five videos, making up 45 minutes of amazing denim history, can be found on Levi’s own Youtube page, although it is not stated when they were filmed.
The videos chart the timeline of the company history, from its inception and workwear roots through the James Dean years, the swinging sixties and to the present day, searching for jeans at the L.A Rose Bowl flea market. The video features the infamous Lynn Downey among many other Levi’s top dogs and experts. If you have the time, get your notebooks out and start watching!
