Milan: For his second collection for sportswear label Les Copains, Alessandro Dell’Acqua gathered a diverse mix of influences, describing the result as a “melting pot.” He borrowed blue and white sailor stripes from France, tennis skirts and dresses from activewear, and a vibrant shade of blue from the Masai tribe. Dell’Acqua held together what could have been an incongruous group of inspirations with his simple shapes and sparing use of embellishment. Knits were the obvious highlight. Chunky, loosely knit sweaters and skirts were the best of the bunch, though the fine-gauge pieces – some featuring intarsia designs – were lovely too. –Joanna Manganaro
