Layered Proportions

New York…Yigal Azrouel

This season, Yigal Azrouel proposes braving cold weather wearing dark and romantic looks including capes and cascading knit “blankets” that envelope form-fitting shirts and slim trousers. “The evolution of the collection is mostly in the proportions. It’s less layered than in the past. I focused on a clean and lean silhouette,” said the designer pre-show. Dresses were asymmetric, draping the body at the neckline. Sometimes peplums played on the proportions of the silhouette. Heather grey, charcoal and jet black created a goth feel that sat well on oversized shapes.
