For F/W 10 creative director Alber Elbaz and menswear designer Lucas Ossendrijver departed from the usual romance at Lanvin, and were instead inspired by the tough, active-infused elements of the street. The collection contained its signature mix of luxurious and technical materials, this time including nylon sleeves on dense wool suits, unfinished seams, and wide knitted or velcro-wrapped belts. The protective look was carried through with cozy turtleneck sweaters and styling details like pants tucked into storm-trooper boots, colossal backpacks and fingerless leather gloves, while roomy cargo pockets, epaulets and industrial zips offered a utilitarian, military edge. Street-style has never looked so chic.
