Paris: Lanvin menswear designer Lucas Ossendrijver referenced 1970s sportswear for  F/W 12, opening the show with a grouping of flared high-waisted trousers, layered turtlenecks and shoulder-strong topcoats in a lovely palette of dusty tones. Structure played an important role, with firm knits and hefty wool outerwear featuring directional hourglass silhouettes and ultra-rounded, dropped shoulders. Formal and activewear elements merged for a hybrid effect. Luxe-techno looks transitioned into shades of midnight, as lustrous shawl collar suits peeked out beneath quilted down jackets, and evening outerwear combined satin lapels and nylon piecing.  —Anna Jane Davis
