Victoria Beckham's vocabulary for dressing – femininity, and thoughtful glamour

New York: For Pre-Fall, Tomas Maier continued with his laid-back sophisticated appeal with a collection that was infused with his signature sporty vibe. Minimal and simply preppy, there were classic weekend pieces to compliment any youthful wardrobe. The trick with Maier is his use of the special details that set his designs apart from being average. Everything is as streamlined as his new premises on Madison Avenue – just so. A simple moleskin tunic, laced at the front, easy A- line skirts – some with inverted pleats, a jersey shift featuring a row of tiny, brushed-brass studs and more. There was plenty of texture in rich cotton velvets, oiled denim, fleece, shiny leather and chunky ribbed sweaters in cosy, soft cashmere; not to mention – the addition of bright solid color. A contemporary lineup with just the right amount of casual chic. – Lizzy Bowring
