A LOVER AND A FIGHTER
New York: La Perla drew inspiration from the legendary bullfighters of 1930s Spain for Fall, as told through the film Manolete. The purveyors of some of the most luxurious lingerie in the world were able to translate the sumptuous textures of the toreador’s costume into sexy delicacies that formed a second skin to the body. The elaborate gold-threaded embroideries took the form of feather-patterned Leavers lace and placed “medallions” on the barest hint of tulle. And in the swishy fringe of a gown and the flirty sway of tasseled bows here and there were the crowning touches of the brave fighter’s uniform.Nivara Xaykao
