Ksubi Launches Kolor Denim

Cult Australian label, ksubi returns with the latest installment of their iconic colored denim range, Kolors, with a short film shot by Australian director Daniel Askill.

Colored denim is making a huge statement this season but it is certainly nothing new, Australian denim brand Ksubi was making colored jeans back in 2004 and for 2011 they are relaunching them once again under the Ksubi Kolors Collection. In anticipation of the release the brand produced a promo film directed by Daniel Askill that revolves around a slow-motion battle filled with colored smoke, 80s muscle cars, and three color-clad models. Featuring the very last sets of limited edition colored tyres by Kumho in Australia, Ksubi, Askill and his team at Collider fused the layers of vivid smoke with their unique denim range in an enticing spectrum of hues. The film premiers online on May 5th, just as Ksubi Kolors hits stores.

Sprays of color have been emerging across  a number of retailers throughout Spring. For 2011, Diesel launched their Powder Collection, an array of pastel washes inspired by makeup, while Rag & Bone, JBrand and Current Elliot also released their own selections of pastel and colored denim assortments. We will be bringing you a full analysis of the key trends and directions in colored denim soon.
