Spring has officially sprung and so too has a lovely colour palette for kitchenware. At last week’s International Home and Housewares Show in Chicago, we saw pastel colours on everything from spatulas to cleaning brushes.
Greyish purple, soft blue and pale pink can easily be mixed and matched together adding a fresh harmony colour to the kitchen. Cookware such as pots and pans which normally have a neutral tone get a decorative flair with the addition of pastel colouring.
Not just a seasonal palette, pastels can be used year-round, paired with warm wood and matte finishes to add a sense of calm to the home.
As explored in our Mindful Home report, a pared-back palette helps to create a harmonious mood. A key way to utilize this look all year round is to choose items with a handmade look that offer a tactile feel, celebrating the beauty of imperfection.
