London: The type of charmingly cute looks Kinder Aggugini indulges in have become rare on the runway recently, and successful iterations even more sparse. This season the designer used a combination of crafty materials like eyelet lace and cotton gingham to showcase conversational prints with a nautical vibe, resulting in endearing apron dresses and boxy tailored jackets. Establishing a childlike atmosphere via painted clogs and picnic tote bags, Aggugini’s only misstep arrived at the close of the presentation, as dramatic dresses emblazoned with velvet octopi, their proportions too aggressive and grown-up for this otherwise winsome collection.—Nina Stotler
