Khaki Fever

With warm days ahead, it’s easy for many men to trade in their raw denim for lightweight chinos.  Joining the armies of J.Crew, Gap and Banana Republic, Grown and Sewn is a new pants-only depot that just opened in New York’s Tribeca neighborhood. Selling simple and straightforward khakis in three shapes and a tight range of neutral colors, the store is a refreshing option for the utiliatrain obsessives out there. Fits include the Kax—a jean-khaki hybrid that combines the feel of khakis with the “attitude and guts” of jeans. All the khakis (and the belts, bags and other vintagey accessories) are made in America. And because man cannot live by pants alone, check out the store’s basement that includes an art gallery full of all-American goodness like Warhol, Haring and Peter Max.
