The name Odile Gilbert in the hair world is synonymous with most celebrity names: she’s a legend.

Her French sensibility and inspirations always produce laissez-faire looks that are dead simple to achieve. The results are always light, free of fuss and compliment instead of overpower the clothing.

For Suno S/S14 during New York fashion week, she created a hairstyle with a ponytail effect that made beauty editors do a double-take: was it a ponytail? A faux-bob? Neither?

We interview Gilbert on how she created the edgy updo for Suno S/S14: a center-part hairstyle with a headband effect.
