Paris: Masters of New York cool and founders of cutting edge lifestyle boutique Opening Ceremony Humberto Leon and Carol Lim had a lot to prove as newly appointed creative directors of the Japanese brand Kenzo. From the it-kid turnout including Jason Schwartzman to Chloe Sevigny to the clothes themselves which were bold, wearable and athletic-inspired, it looks like the duo delivered, adding just the right dose of youthfulness to the fashion house, which was established in 1970. Nautical-themed novelty prints were abundant and noteworthy while clever colorblocking, contrasting hues of bright primaries and a few unexpected activewear-inspired pieces brought the pair’s incalculable hip factor to the chic realm of Paris fashion week. —Shannon Davenport
