NEW YORK… Besides being an up-and-coming designer, Katy Rodriguez is also co-owner of the vintage mecca Resurrection. Her party girl ready collection had roots in the ’80s and ’50s. The look was an interesting combination of a pinup girl/cheerleader/prom queen. Tiers of ruffles made up miniskirts paired with black tanks. A favorite ensemble was the puffy miniskirt with blue ruffles underneath and fitted leather jacket on top. Another standout skirt featured a vintage bondage pinup print in black and white. Ankle boots, lacey leggings and motorcycle gloves completed the sweet yet edgy looks. A couple of random daywear looks wear thrown in, such as the black pencil skirt and blouse. Rodriguez explained this collection “as a homage to her early years as a club kid.”
