The much anticipated collection by Karl Lagerfeld for e-tailer Net-a-Porter launched yesterday morning, preceded by a mass marketing phenomenon which included installations in Paris, one-on-one interviews with Karl by Karl on the site, and mock newscasts regarding the launch – just to name a few.
The collection features lots of leather, black, white and silver, Karl’s signature design elements, and the shoes follow suit. Single sole wedges bear asymmetrical uppers and buckled ankle straps along with a toe ring detail. Straps and hardware are featured on the only flat sandal of the collection with an espadrille bottom, as well as the already sold out peep-toe ankle boot in black and silver nappa. Karl also touched the luxury sneaker category with a Velcro® high-top in white and silver, with prices ranging from $345-$445. -Jenn Tello
